The Scheepjes Kit Experience offers complete kits for different craft techniques and skill levels. Each kit contains the materials as well as an instructions booklet to get started with a new project.

With the Scheepjes Kumihimo Loom kit you can make the loveliest (friendship) bracelets. Kumihimo is an ancient Japanese braiding art: 'kumi' means braiding and 'himo' means cord. This Kumihimo kit is perfect for anyone who wants to get to know this beautiful technique and is ideal for children! The kit contains two Kumihimo disks, because what could be more fun than crafting together?! Kumihimo promotes fine motor skills, artistic expression and social interaction. The possibilities of this craft kit are endless. With the yarn in the kit you can make more than 100 bracelets and with the included colour scheme you can design new patterns yourself in a fun and easy way. You braid the straps with Scheepjes Larra, a 100% mercerised Cotton yarn with a beautiful shine in a fingering weight and Scheepjes Twinkle, a yarn with a subtle glitter, made from 75% Cotton and 25% Polyester. The Kumihimo disk made of sturdy foam plastic makes braiding easy. Fix the yarn in one of the 32 slits around the disc, so that they do not get tangled during braiding. The disk is lightweight and compact and therefore perfect to take with you, on the go. This complete Scheepjes Kumihimo Loom kit contains the following items:

  • 7 x Scheepjes Larra of 50 grams with a running length of 125 metres per ball in different colours
  • 1 x Scheepjes Twinkle of 50 grams with a running length of 130 metres per ball
  • 2 x kumihimo disc
  • 1 x scissors
  • 1 x pattern booklet in Dutch, English and German

    Each kit is packed in a sturdy cardboard box with Scheepjes logo measuring 26 x 21 x 9cm.

    If I didn't like Terrazzo, I was going to say it was terr-erible... BUT -- IT'S FANTASTIC. The colors are beautiful and the little nuances of extra color adds to the depth of the finished work. It's soft and is crocheting beautifully. Big bonus - it's ethically sourced and recycled. My order from Yarnalicious was accurate and delivery was speedy! Very happy!!

    A great yarn with an array of different coloured speckles throughout. Easy to knit with and it holds the shape of the garment perfectly. It creates a light fabric and I'm sure it will be a favourite to wear in the future. The only downside is a technical one - as in: I couldn't find a single online photo on different websites that accurately reflected the true colour of the yarn I actually received. Luckily I was happy with the colour anyway but I think it is something to bear in mind when ordering.
